When I was a Boy Scout, they instructed us about emergency maneuvers to take when falling from a tree. You should position your arms around your body so as to resemble a cork-screw. That way, your rescuers can more easily unscrew you from the ground. (Incidentally, that may be the origin of the slang term "to be screwed," meaning to find oneself in a difficult predicament. But don't quote me on that.)
The situation itself is extremely silly. And I've never been much of a fan of Alice in Wonderland. But lay that aside and just look at the colors, the feeling the picture gives off! Not the fact that there is a person probably doing some sports excercise to get their legs up. But what they've achieved. This picture is fantasy themed, so that is no longer what is going on there. Artistically this picture is amazing
Have you never read Alice in Wonderland? I mean look at those tights. This photo is showing the modern interpretation of the classic story (with a personal touch of humour). Just because you don't get the reference doesn't make it uncool :P
I am wholeheartedly in love with this. It is by far my favorite of today's DD's as well as among my favorite deviations on this site. You did an excellent job capturing something simple and entertaining, while still maintaining a professional quality photo. Not only that, but this work shows that you have excellent skill as a photographer, the vision of an artist, and the fearlessness of a child -- the perfect trifecta, if you ask me. I'm excited to look through the rest of your gallery! Keep up the great work.
